Morning Worship 07/30/17

99:30 am

Worship Theme:  The Humility of Christ

He will not cry aloud or lift up His voice, or make it heard in the street;

a bruised reed He will not break, and a faintly burning wick He will not quench;

He will faithfully bring forth justice.

 Isaiah 42:2,3

 Music to Prepare Our Hearts

Gathering In His Presence

Approaching Through Christ’s Work                                              Isaiah 53:1-5

Who has believed what He has heard from us?  And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?  For He grew up before Him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; He had no form or majesty that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him.  He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their facesHe was despised, and we esteemed Him not. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities;

Seeking His Grace in Forgiveness

Rejoicing in His Humility                                                   “There is a Fountain”

There is a fountain filled with blood

Drawn from Immanuel's veins

And sinners plunged beneath that flood

Lose all their guilty stains

Lose all their guilty stains, Lose all their guilty stains

And sinners plunged beneath that flood

Lose all their guilty stains

Assured of His Love and Grace                                                       Isaiah 53:5-6

Upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace,

and with His wounds we are healed.

All we like sheep have gone astray;

we have turned—every one—to his own way;

and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Rejoicing in Our God                                                  “Victory in Jesus”

I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me
I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning
Then I repented of my sins and won the victory

I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing
How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see
And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit”
And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory

O victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever
He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood

I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory
And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea
About the angels singing, and the old redemption story
And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory

Thanking the Lord for His Presence

Acknowledging God’s Providence and Provision

Through Prayer for the Body                                                    Hebrews 4:14-16

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Through Giving for His Kingdom                                              2 Corinthians 8:9

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,

that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor,

so that you by his poverty might become rich.

Our Offering for the Work of His Church

Proclaiming His Goodness                                               “O Worship the King”

O worship the King, all glorious above

O gratefully sing His wonderful love

Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days

Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise

O tell of His might, O sing of His grace

Whose robe is the light, and canopy space

His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form

And dark is His path on the wings of the storm

You alone are the matchless King

To You alone be all majesty

Your glories and wonders, what tongue can recite

You breathe in the air. You shine in the light

O measureless might, ineffable love

While angels delight to worship above

Thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end

Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend

Chorus (2x)

You shine in the light. You shine in the light

O worship the King, all glorious above

And gratefully sing His wonderful love

Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days

Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise

“I’ll Not Be Shaken (Psalm 62)”

For God alone, I wait in silence

My soul is still before the Lord

He is my rock and my salvation

My fortress strong; I trust in Him

I’ll not be shaken! I’ll not be shaken

For all my hope is in His love

From God alone comes my salvation

I’ll wait and trust His steadfast love!

Put not your hope in gain of riches

Seek not your rest in empty wealth

The rich are weak; the poor are mighty

Who turn to God alone for help

Chorus

Pour out your heart to God our refuge

And trust in Him to hear you cry

No other hope will never fail you

No other love will not run dry

Chorus

Departing To Love In Our World

Charged in His Love                                                                     1 Peter 5:5,7

Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.

Delighting in His Love                                                          “Man of Sorrows”

Man of sorrows Lamb of God, By His own betrayed

The sin of man and wrath of God, Has been on Jesus laid

Silent as He stood accused, Beaten mocked and scorned

Bowing to the Father's will, He took a crown of thorns

Oh that rugged cross my salvation

Where Your love poured out over me

Now my soul cries out hallelujah

Praise and honor unto Thee

Sent of heaven God's own Son, To purchase and redeem

And reconcile the very ones, Who nailed Him to that tree

 Chorus

Now my debt is paid, it is paid in full

By the precious blood, that my Jesus spilled

Now the curse of sin, has no hold on me

Whom the Son sets free, oh is free indeed

(Repeat)

Chorus

See the stone is rolled away, Behold the empty tomb

Hallelujah God be praised, He's risen from the grave

Chorus
