Together in Worship, Learning, Fellowship and Outreach
This Month’s Happenings
SUNDAY SCHOOL – Sunday School is available for all ages. Our Adult classes are “Living in Grace” led by Elder Jim Roszell (Library) and “Biblical Theology 101” led by Pastor Bob Clark (Sanctuary).
THE SEASON OF LENT – The cloth on the cross has been changed to purple because we have entered the season of Lent. The color of Lent is purple – the same as Advent. The reason being is that the church has always understood the connection between His coming and His passion: “The Son of Man came (advent) … to give His life as a ransom for many (passion). Purple speaks of royalty, of kingship. Purple is made up of the colors blue (which speaks of Heaven) and red (which speaks of blood). The message communicated is that Jesus, the King of Heaven, came to shed His blood so that we might have peace with God.
TUESDAY MORNING LADIES’ STUDY – If you would like to join us for our new study of 1 Kings we will begin next Tuesday, March 19, from 8:30 – 10:00am in the church foyer. Study guides are available at the Welcome Center.
CPC NURSERY – The nursery committee would like to thank everyone that attended the nursery training sessions in February. For those of you serving in the nursery ministry that were unable to attend there will be a make-up training session on Sunday, April 7 in the nursery during Sunday School. Please let Nedra Clark know if you plan to attend.
THURSDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY, R.C. Sproul’s “Dust to Glory” meets every other Thursday at 6pm at the church office. For more information, please contact Maureen Bradley or the Church Office: 765.966.4017. Please check the calendar below for Thursday dates.
GLOBAL MERCY MINISTRY OFFERING – There will be a Global Mercy Ministry offering on Sunday, March 31. This money will go to the Mission’s Committee to be used in assisting overseas missionaries.
A MOVIE OPPORTUNITY – On Wednesday, March 20, at 7pm we will show the movie “GOSNELL – The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” at CPC. The movie chronicles the activities of the inner-city abortion clinic in Philadelphia that led to Dr. Gosnell’s trial in 2010. Because of the topic and some language, the movie is rated, appropriately, PG-13. We would encourage parents to consider that regarding their youth; even those 13 or older. We will have a second presentation March 20. Given the recent developments in our nation, we believe this movie will encourage the sanctity of life. MEN’S CONFERENCE – Tickets for the Men’s Conference, April 5, are available for you and your guests. Tickets will assist us in planning for seating availability and food quantities. Please contact the Church Office for more information.
